Roy's Productive Week

My darling husband, the teacher, got out of school at the end of last week. In a week he has accomplished more than I have in the past year, I swear.

First, he built the brooder for our keets.

A brooder keeps baby birds warm and protected.

This one is kinda like a coffee table with heat lamps on the bottom side. The keets stay below it to keep warm or they come out to cool off. For the first few weeks, they'll stay underneath it most of the time. Their food and water is under the brooder, too.

Here are the keets cuddling under the lamps. They are about 4-5 inches tall. Aren't they cute? Too bad they don't stay that way . . .

After the brooder, Roy built this counter to put his sink in. It's now our garden sink where we can wash veggies or work on outdoor projects that are too dirty for the house.

And then Roy built these raised beds for our garden.

And he also planted most of the veggie garden, planted shrubs, mowed, and all while still running his wind turbine business, Chinook Energy.

He's been very productive . . . perhaps too productive . . .

What do you suppose he's doing now? Oh, just drawing the plans for his next project: newegress windows for the basement. They're easy you know. They only require him to hand-dig big holes, knock out concrete, build big wooden retaining walls . . . Easy. I bet he'll be done by the end of the weekend.
