Christian Parenting Group

Once a month, a group of families gets together. We have a potluck and then the kids go off to play with babysitters while the parents share a little lesson on parenting.

The food is darn tasty, of course. There's always plenty to go around, although we parents have to sneak our desserts before all the kids get to them! I brought egg salad to the potluck - surprise, surprise (I have a lot of eggs building up in my fridge!).

Here's last Sunday's group of parents. We usually have more families than this, but it was a cozy group. A different couple leads the lesson each time. The lessons are based on Christianbeliefs and morals. It may sound a little dull to many people, but it'ssurprisingly fun, especially the discussions the parents have after thelesson.

It can be hard sometimes to find a group of people to fit in with in a small community. It's nice to have other young families to spend time with. Melise also likes it because she gets a chance to socialize with other kids. Last Sunday, she discovered Liam and they had a ball.

The parenting group is open to families of all denominations, so please email me (susan@ourhaxtunlife.com) if you want more info. We'd love to have you join us!

By the way, I want to feature more local clubs and organizations, so if you're a part of one please help me out by emailing me about it! Thanks!
