Christmas Report

After whining to all of you for a whole week before Christmas about my slow progress on presents, I thought you deserved a report on the results. I would have posted this right after Christmas, buuuuuuut I wasn't finished (head hanging in shame right now). Roy and I have two nephews in Cincinnati who have not received their Christmas presents from us because their aunt is slow! (If you're reading this, boys, look away or else it'll ruin the surprise!)

So here are the super fabulous, handmade, almost-no-money-spent Christmas presents!

In the center of the picture is Roy's gift to me. It's a piece of clay with his hand print and Melise's footprint - the best present! He wanted to do Melise's hand print inside his own, but she refused to touch the clay! That's my silly girl!

My present to Roy was a photo album full of pictures of him as a baby and kid. He thought there weren't very many pictures of him growing up, but his parents looked around their house and found a bag filled with photos that Roy and his siblings had never seen before! My favorite part of this was seeing the resemblance between Roy and Melise.

For the kids, Roy made them signs for their rooms and "find it" jars. The jars are filled with proso seed and then he put in some little items, like buttons and marbles that they have to find by turning the jar (it's not easy!).

I crocheted snakes for all the kids. That's what took me SOOOO long to finish! The snakes sound kinda cheesy, but the went over pretty well! Look at the evidence:

There was some dangerous snake usage early on, such as swinging the snake around and hitting other cousins, but we put a stop to that quickly!

Anyhow, it was a wonderful, wild, silly family-filled Christmas and we ALL enjoyed it!

P.S. This was taken at the Haxtun Community Center - the only place in town big enough to hold us!
