Back to Colorado
Eventually all vacations must come to an end, no matter how wonderful and relaxing they are. Coming home is nice, too, but reality really hit me this morning when no one made me coffee or breakfast. Sigh! My parents are so good at spoiling me, but now I'm back to the grind!
While I was enjoying the 80-degree weather in California, northeast Colorado was hit by a blizzard! All the highways in our area were closed for a day due to ice. Roy told me that there was a 2-foot drift blocking our driveway, but that's nothing compared to the waist-deep one around our chicken house. He also said that he went out in the falling snow to check the chickens, went back to the house to get something and came out again minutes later only to find that his footprints had already filled in with snow - that's serious snowfall!
Unfortunately, no pictures were taken because my camera was with me in CA. BUT I received a fabulous picture from a local, Aimee.

By the way, I LOVE to get emails. I can't promise to always post pictures sent to me, but if it fits with something I write about I just might use it. Also, I like to just hear what you all think of my blog - what you like most or maybe what you don't like (I'll try to take it like a man!). Please write to me at susan@ourhaxtunlife.com. I check it every day, just hoping for mail!
In other news, some of my Corn Fest pictures were used in a story on Denver's channel 7 news. Good job Shelby and family on making our town safer!
