Tempel Vet Service
| Welcome to the local vet's office! Dr. Tempel treats big and small animals - he's quite good at both. For those city-dwellers, like myself, you may be wondering about those big animals . . . Yes, I'm talking about cows and horses and such! When you walk into the office, it looks like a typical vet office that treats dogs and cats. There is a desk, a little exam room, some kennels, yadda yadda. But in the back is a bigger room with a pen, or maybe two, I haven't really studied it much. Sometimes I've seen a cow in there and Dr. Tempel comes out in his overalls (what else would you wear to examine a cow?). |
| Although I give Dr. Tempel frequent business caring for ill and injured farm cats, I imagine that he depends more on the big animal side of things. He makes regular visits to dairies and is gone a lot in the spring "preg-checking" cows (checking to see if they're pregnant). The life of a country vet is not an easy one. He has an assistant during the days, but he doesn't get to trade off with someone else to be on call for those midnight phone calls. Nope, it's just him . . . oh wait, let me give a little credit to his wife who becomes the default assistant and secretary on many occasions! But I've never met a couple with a better sense of humor about it all. Tempel Vet Service 24976 County Road 15 (see map) 970-774-3456 | |
