Big Preparations
This morning I visited the Haxtun Community Center (map) to take a few photos of the ladies of the High Plains Heritage Quilters setting up the quilt show that will take place during the Corn Festival tomorrow. You can never know how much work goes into that set-up until you volunteer to help them with it . . . which I didn't do. Terrible person I am, I just snapped a few pictures, showed off my baby girl and ran away!
Anyhow, I thought I'd post a few shots before the actual event because I'm sure there will be a lot of photos of Corn Festival and I didn't want the quilt show to get lost in the jumble!

| Roy's mom is a member of High Plain Heritage Quilters, the group that hosts this particular show, so I get the inside scoop on the set-up of the show. A common theme I hear every year is about the difficulties they have hanging the quilts. It's quite a nice frame they have, but not an easy task! Normally, I think they recruit a couple men to do the heavy lifting, but this year the men must have all caught wind of the preparations and hid! | |
| Now that you've had a taste of the quilts at the show, I hope you'll join us at the show and Corn Fest, too! By the way, they raffle off the quilt pictured here! Don't miss it! | |
