One of my hopes for this blog is to reach out to new residents of Haxtun and help them get to know our town and feel at home in it. 

You would think a small town would be easy to get to know, but Roy tells a great story about a woman who moved to town and couldn't find the grocery store for a few weeks!  (That was when the grocery store was in a different location).  I hope that new residents of Haxtun will feel free to ask questions on this blog or send me an email if you're a little more shy (susan@ourhaxtunlife.com).  This area has a wealth of resources that you'd never guess until you ask!  And if I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does!

I'm slowly in the process of building a map of Haxtun and a calendar of community events.  The map gains points that are relevant to my blog postings, so it'll get more detailed with time.  The calendar is gathering events I see in the newspaper (Haxtun-Fleming Herald) so far.  I plan to be a bit more outgoing in my event gathering in the future. 

There are a lot of clubs in Haxtun that I hope to gather info and post it here to help new people find their niche.  Again, leave me a comment or email me if you have questions about clubs.
